But in Rwanda, children are still suffering the consequences of the terrible genocide of 1994, when hundreds of thousands of families and their livelihoods were destroyed. Especially in rural areas, there is still great poverty. The schools there are poorly equipped, the classrooms are overcrowded. On average, there are about 70 pupils per teacher. There is a lack of well-trained teachers. UBUNTU supports schools and families in remote areas.
